The Cocoa Plan
The cocoa plan was launched in 2009 with the intention of improving the lives of cocoa farmers and their families. It approaches problems in the cocoa industry, addressing the productivity as well as profitability of cocoa crop, challenges in the supply chain, ageing trees, the use of child labour on farms and training. This vision of farmers runing profitable farms, respecting the environment and enjoying a good quality of life is shared with the UTZ certified which is one of the largest sustainability programs for cocoa, and a highly credible non-for-profit organisation. As well as working with UTZ the company is also working with the fair labour association (FLA) to help insure a flow of suitable cocoa. |
